This is It!
This is my last blog post before I leave for my mission trip and I seriously doubt I will have access to the internet to post an update while in Mexico. Even if I did have some time on the internet in Mexico, I don't think I would spend it blogging for all of you to read! Ya'll can wait 'til I get back! :P
3 Weeks. 7 churches. 6 Vacation Bible School programs going on simultaneously at six different locations. Medical Clinics, Outreach to the community, and people I would call family by the end of the trip. No cell phone reception. No computers or internet. Partial electricity. No comfy bed, no all-you-can-eat buffets, and definitely no hot waters let alone showers! You get a sleeping bag, a tent, and a solar shower! You eat whatever is available and it will be just enough to carry you until your next meal. A very primitive life. Take all of these things and run them into a series of multiple situations where reliance on God will be needed more than ever. This is it! All of the steps I have been taking to prepare have been for this event.
Last year, I had delayed flights like you will NEVER experience in your lifetime. With over 48 hours in delays and getting motion sick, I had the roughest of all rough beginnings to the Ultimate Workout 19. And although the rough experience turned 360 degrees around, I didn't want come back to the Ultimate Workout this year. But God decided that that wasn't the way He wanted and He called me back.
Pastoring a group of about 25 teenagers will be tough, but with God's guidance, anything is possible and I am putting my complete faith in Him to lead the way. Please pray for me that my travels to and from Mexico will be safe ones and that I may be a beacon of light to guide others to God.
Thank you guys for all of your support through finances, prayers, and words of encouragement. It really has been uplifting to me!! I will be back on the 26th ready to share with all of you all of my experiences on this trip!
Until then, Adiós mis amigos.
